The Nebraska Dental Association (NDA) is seeking an experienced, extremely motivated, and member-focused Executive Director to lead our statewide professional organization. The NDA is dedicated to advancing the dental profession and promoting oral health across Nebraska.
About Us:
The NDA is a non-profit membership organization that serves as the voice of dentistry in Nebraska. Founded in 1865, the NDA represents more than 1,000 members statewide. The NDA is a constituent of the American Dental Association (ADA), with six district components, and is committed to the advocacy, education, and delivery of high value services that support dental professionals and improve public oral health.
More Than Just a Job, A Meaningful Career:
The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer of the NDA, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the association. The Executive Director works closely with the Board of Trustees to execute the association’s mission, support members, and represent the interests of the dental profession at the state and national levels. This leader is responsible for overall strategic direction, advocacy efforts, financial management, staff leadership, and organizational operations. We are honored to say that our current Executive Director has guided the NDA for 20 plus years and is now entering retirement.
What You’ll Do:
- Foster and energize membership by providing a positive and engaging experience within the organization through programs and services that provide member value.
- Collaborate with the NDA Board to identify, create, and implement strategic plans which align with the NDA’s mission.
- Represent the NDA before the state legislature, regulatory bodies, and industry partners.
- Manage staff, operations, and finances, including budgeting and compliance.
- Expand communications through social media, newsletters and website management.
- Serve as primary liaison to the American Dental Association and other key stakeholders.
- Travel is required to some national, state, and local meetings.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Proven executive-level leadership in an association, nonprofit, or healthcare setting.
- Strong background in advocacy and government relations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational management skills.
- A person with a high level of integrity and a collaborative leadership style who can work with diverse stakeholders, including associated government and healthcare organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred.

David, Executive Director

David has worked with non-profit organizations since 1996 before joining the NDA in February of 2004. He assists the leadership and NDA members in planning and implementing the Association’s policies and programs as directed by the NDA’s elected leaders. He oversees the overall condition and operation of the Association and safeguards the Association’s resources and assets. David is also the editor and primary creator of the NDA’s website, bi-monthly newsletter and eNews. He holds a B.A. in Architecture, a M.S. in Civil Engineering and a J.D. in Law, all from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He obtained his Nebraska State Bar license in 1991. He is blessed with a lovely wife Patty and two daughters Jackie and Elizabeth. He also enjoys golfing whenever time and weather permit.
Jody, Executive Assistant

Jody joined the NDA in April of 2004 and serves as the Executive Assistant for the association. She is responsible for the Annual Session and preparation of all financial documents. She also works with matters pertaining to membership recruitment and retention, as well as a variety of other programs, including the NDA New Dentist Council. Prior to coming to the NDA, Jody worked at a local law firm for twenty-one years. In her spare time, Jody enjoys spending time with family and friends and traveling.
