Dental Medicaid Resources

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) partners with Molina Healthcare, Nebraska Total Care, and UnitedHealthcare Community Plan to provide services—including dental care—through the Heritage Health managed care program. This contract term began on January 1, 2024.

Centralized Credentialing (CVO) – Effective 2025

Nebraska Medicaid approved a Centralized Verification Organization (CVO) to streamline credentialing for all three Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs). Providers seeking initial credentialing with any MCO now use the NCQA-certified CVO, Verisys, for a single verification process. This eliminates the need for separate credentialing with each MCO, reducing administrative burdens and aligning with the State of Nebraska’s goal to make Medicaid participation more efficient for providers.

Medicaid Dental Cheat Sheet

To help dental offices navigate Medicaid dental benefits, the NDA has compiled a quick-reference Medicaid Dental Cheat Sheet. This guide allows dentists and dental team members to easily see which procedures require prior authorization, frequency limits, and other key details. Because there are three separate MCOs, this cheat sheet makes it simple to look up information by dental code or procedure, saving time and helping ensure accurate billing and patient care.
