Nebraska Veterans Mission of Mercy (VETMOM)

The Nebraska Veterans Mission of Mercy (VETMOM) is a large-scale, volunteer-driven dental clinic that provides free, high-quality dental care to Nebraska veterans, spouses, and surviving spouses who face barriers to accessing treatment.

Held at the Nebraska National Guard Titan Readiness Center near Yutan, the two-day event transforms the facility into a fully functioning dental clinic staffed by hundreds of dental professionals, students, and community volunteers. Patients receive a wide range of services — including exams, X-rays, cleanings, fillings, extractions, root canals, and dentures — at no cost.

Since launching in 2023, VETMOM has provided care to more than 1,250 patients and delivered over $1.6 million in donated dental services. The event helps address a critical need, as many veterans do not qualify for dental benefits through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and may otherwise go without care.

VETMOM is made possible through a statewide partnership led by the Nebraska Department of Veterans’ Affairs and supported by numerous organizations, including the Nebraska Dental Association, dental schools, healthcare agencies, sponsors, and hundreds of dedicated volunteers.

Together, these partners honor Nebraska’s veterans and their families by restoring oral health, relieving pain, and improving quality of life.
