The Nebraska Medical Association offering FREE training to all prescribers in the state that meets the new DEA eight-hour training requirement. As a reminder, the DEA has implemented training requirements for all DEA-registered practitioners beginning on the date of your next scheduled DEA registration - on or after June 27, 2023.

All DEA licensed controlled substance prescribers must demonstrate they have completed eight hours of training specific to treating and managing patients with OUD and SUD.

Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) offers 3.5 hours FREE continuing credits that can used towards your 3.0 hours of OPIOID requirements and 0.5 hours of PDMP requirements.  Below are a list of topics, training videos, and corresponding assessments.  Please be aware that at the end of each assessment you will be re-directed to new web page where you will have the ability to save and/or print a copy of your certificate of completion.  DHHS-PDMP webpage.

Online HIPAA Training

For members the HIPAA training (assuming they’ve ordered it) will appear on their ADA e-bookshelf. Members can login directly to https://ebooks.ada.org or by logging into www.ada.org and clicking on the “History” section on the left-hand side.  Next they click on “e-Bookshelf” where they can navigate to the e-books they have ordered.
