Greetings!!

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to all the members of the Nebraska Dental Association. Some of you know me and have worked with me over the years in my many roles at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Dentistry. I have spent the past 20 years at the college working with students placing them in rural communities in an effort to expose them to the wonders and benefits of living and working in rural Nebraska. In addition to my activities with rural communities and dental and dental hygiene students, I have spent this past year coordinating all the continuing education programs sponsored by the UNMC College of Dentistry.

At this time I have great news that I would like to share with all of you. I have been recruited, on a part-time basis, by David O’Doherty, executive director of the NDA, and Dr. James Walker, president of the NDA, to serve in a “match-making” capacity. Specifically, I would like to introduce those of you in rural shortage areas, who are considering retirement and transitioning out of your practice, to soon-to-be and newly graduated practitioners. I want to be able to work with all of you as well as some of your community leaders in a joint effort between Creighton University Medical Center, School of Dentistry, the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Dentistry and the state legislature as we look to the future needs of the citizens of this great state.
